I wasn’t sure I’d ever take my books out of the virtual realm and into meatspace. But based on feedback from readers, and my own vain desire to adorn my rich mahogany bookshelves with a copy of one of my works, I’ve decided to publish Consider the Avocado in print.
As you may recall, this collection is a little more polished than its predecessor, Exchange Rate. My relationship with the constrains of structured, rather than blank, verse has become more friendly since my first book of poetry, and I think in the next collection, the poems featured will feature a formal structure as well as a focus on euphony. Which is one of my favorite words, but also sounds like that idiot from Family Guy voicing his displeasure.
You know, this dope:
God. Sometimes, I think about how much I used to love that show and just want to jump in front of a bus.
Currently, Consider the Avocado is only available on Amazon, but that might change in the future if I start monkeying about with other print-friendly platforms for books.
In other news, folks who support my Patreon are currently enjoying the intro to the long-awaited second part of Blood Ties.
Is there action? You bet.
Is there adventure? Well, I mean, it’s just the intro, but YES.
Is there an elaborate sociopolitical system established that you didn’t even expect based on what we saw in part one? A-DOY.
For as little as a buck a month, you, too can get the secret freebies, exclusive chapters and poetry, and other fun stuff. So if you’d like to support an artist and also drink, like, one fewer cup of Starbucks each month, I’M YOUR GAL.
I hope you’ll take a look at Consider the Avocado, and if you feel inclined, swing by my Patreon. I’ve got a lot of cool stuff coming up in 2018, and I’d love to share it with you.
