Another year, another stab at literary glory via NaNoWriMo.
If you’re not familiar with National Novel Writing Month, it’s a mad moon of frantic scribbling for thousands, if not millions, of writers across the US and around the world. As usual, I’ll be participating, working this year on both a Cat Cruz novel AND my latest smutsterpiece under my pen name. We’ll see if I can pull it off.*
At any rate, if you’re a scribbler like me, and you’re keen on sharing tips, agonizing over word counts, or want to join a really cool, really casual FB group where we do fun things like share plotlines and organize (extremely) casual writing sprints to keep morale high and existential angst low, why not become my buddy over on the official NaNoWriMo site? Everything fun is more fun with a friend, except maybe eating a hamburger, because why would I EVER willingly give you some of my delicious hamburger?
Get your own, man.
If you’ve got a novel inside you, now’s the time to let it out. And whether, like me, you’re using Scrivener, or you want to take things nice and easy with an application like Word or Google Docs, what matters is getting those words out of your head and onto the page or screen. Now, more than ever, it’s SO important for creative people to add beauty and wonder to the world. And books are one of the universal joys that can also change lives and help mend hearts. I’m no Richard De Bury, but I do love books, and believe in their powers to educate, entertain, and enlighten.
I hope you’ll swing by my NaNoWriMo page and send a buddy request. Let’s make NaNoWriMo 2017 the best one yet!
*Spoiler Alert: I will, but at WHAT COST TO HUMANITY?
