Putting the “Claire” in “Clarion.”

So here’s the thing, kids:

I am, as of today, participating in a fun little venture known as the Clarion Foundation Write-a-Thon. This is my first year participating in a venerable tradition, designed to support the efforts of the Clarion Foundation.

“Whoop-de-doo!” I hear you saying. “What does that have to do with me?”

Well, here’s where you come in: I need sponsors. Just as with a rock-a-thon or walk-a-thon, I perform a task (in this case, writing) over a specific interval of time, and you, my beloved readers, pony up the dough to raise money for the organization I’m supporting.

My personal goal is to write something EVERY DAY – it might be a poem, it might be a short story, it might be an excerpt from my novel…the point is, every day, I will produce SOMETHING on Claire De Lunacy (from today through August 7th, at least).

People, these don’t have to be huge donations. Even a fiver is a huge help, and it ALL goes to support a foundation that, in turn, supports the dreams and efforts of the sci-fi and fantasy authors of today (and tomorrow).

This is a volunteer gig – yes, there are of course fabulous prizes to be won, but my greater goal in participating is to give something back, and grow as a writer as I do it.

So, if you enjoy the things you read here, or you want to support the arts, or some combination thereof, won’t you please take a moment to visit my writer’s page and donate? There are three EXTREMELY easy ways to do so, and of course you become eligible for prizes as well when you become a sponsor!

Thanks for your time and your help, my friends. Here’s to the scribblers of the world, and the worlds we can create with the help of awesome folks like you!
